When we say complete we mean complete! From air breather to muffler and
including clutch and pressure plate, these units are ready to swap in a
jif, Each unit has been run and tuned and is ready for the road in your
air cooled VW Beetle. We usually keep one or two of these on hand because
we are close to I-40 and travelers need to get back on the road fast. If
you live within 250 miles of Amarillo, bring your tired ride to our shop
and we will have you back on the road with a fresh ride in less than an
hour!

The cases we use for new longblocks have the mount points for Type 3 and
1968 and newer buses. All new longblocks in stock are equipped with duel
port heads. Single port heads are available on request and remanufactured
single port heads are used because new single port heads are no longer
available.
Here are some other things you may want to consider regarding the purchase
of a new longblock. After 40 years of air-cooled engine building experience,
we have found that a rebuilt engine with proper maintenance will usually
last no more than 35,000 miles before it needs to be rebuilt again. An
engine built from all new parts can last up to 100,000 miles if it is properly
maintained. The purchase of a rebuilt longblock requires a $250.00 core
charge which is refunded to you only if your core (your old engine) is
rebuildable. It will cost you approximately $225.00 to ship your core to
us. There is no core charge when buying a new longblock and therefore no
need to ship us your old engine.

When ordering a stock longblock, be sure to tell us if you want rebuilt
or new, the type of vbehicle it will be installed in and if you need a
single port or duel port version. Requested variations not standard on
our prebuilt longblocks will require a custom build and additional cost
according to your needs.
Warranty information:
Rebuilt longblocks - 90 days.
New longblocks - 12 months or 12,000 miles.
All warranty inspections and work are done at our shop ONLY! You pay the
cost of shipping warranty work to us.
Warranty is void if inspection determines a failure was due to improper
installation, improper maintenance, overheating or loss of oil.
There is no warranty on longblocks installed in buggies, sandrails, racing
or off-road applications.
